<\/a><\/p>\nDeux r\u00e9\u00e9ditions, Mission : Plan\u00e8te Rouge<\/a> et le Collier de la Reine<\/a>, mais aussi un nouveau jeu pour deux joueurs, Raptor, sur lequel nous travaillons depuis plus de deux ans. J\u2019en ai d\u00e9j\u00e0 cont\u00e9 l\u2019histoire ici, il y a quelques semaines<\/a>, mais les belles illustrations de Vincent Dutrait, que je viens de recevoir, sont l\u2019occasion d\u2019en parler \u00e0 nouveau.<\/p>\n Dans une \u00eele paradisiaque, que l\u2019on imagine quelque part dans l\u2019oc\u00e9an Pacifique ou Indien, vivent des dinosaures \u00ab\u00a0recr\u00e9\u00e9s\u00a0\u00bb par l\u2019homme \u00e0 partir de leur ADN, comme dans Jurassic Park \u2013 dont nous ne savions pas qu\u2019une suite \u00e9tait en pr\u00e9paration lorsque nous avons commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 travailler sur ce jeu. Parmi eux, bien s\u00fbr, les rapides et f\u00e9roces velociraptors.<\/p>\n Sur l\u2019\u00eele des dinosaures se trouve aussi une \u00e9quipe de chercheurs, qui pensaient \u00eatre l\u00e0 pour se livrer tranquillement \u00e0 quelques exp\u00e9riences scientifiques. Car bien s\u00fbr, il y a un probl\u00e8me \u2013 une femelle raptor a bris\u00e9 la grille de son enclos et a pondu ses \u0153ufs dans le parc. Un joueur joue donc l\u2019\u00e9quipe de scientifiques, qui doivent tuer<\/span> neutraliser la maman raptor et capturer les b\u00e9b\u00e9s avant qu\u2019ils ne se dispersent dans la for\u00eat o\u00f9 nul ne pourra les retrouver. Son adversaire joue la femelle raptor et ses petits, qui doivent d\u00e9vorer<\/span> effrayer les scientifiques et parvenir \u00e0 s\u2019enfuir.<\/p>\n Dans le parc se trouvent, en d\u00e9but de partie, maman raptor et ses cinq petits, tandis que quatre scientifiques arrivent sur les bords du plateau de jeu. Chaque joueur dispose de neuf cartes, num\u00e9rot\u00e9es de 1 \u00e0 9, ayant chacune un effet particulier. Les cartes permettent au joueur scientifique de d\u00e9placer ses hommes en jeep, de mettre le feu \u00e0 la for\u00eat, de d\u00e9ployer du gaz anesth\u00e9siant, voire d\u2019h\u00e9liporter des renforts. Le joueur raptor, quant \u00e0 lui, peut rappeler les petits aupr\u00e8s de leur m\u00e8re ou se cacher dans la for\u00eat.<\/p>\n \u00c0 chaque tour, les deux joueurs jouent une carte face cach\u00e9e, puis la r\u00e9v\u00e8lent simultan\u00e9ment. Le joueur ayant jou\u00e9 la carte de plus faible valeur peut en appliquer l\u2019effet, et son adversaire dispose ensuite d\u2019un nombre de points d\u2019action (mouvement ou attaque) \u00e9gal \u00e0 la diff\u00e9rence entre les valeurs des deux cartes. Chacun connaissant les cartes de l\u2019adversaire, ce petit syst\u00e8me permet des calculs savants, mais aussi pas mal de bluff et quelques coups fourr\u00e9s. Bref, c\u2019est bien un jeu de Bruno Cathala, calculatoire et strat\u00e9gique, et de Bruno Faidutti, subtil et m\u00e9chant.<\/p>\n Raptor<\/strong><\/span> Two new editions, of Mission: Red Planet<\/a> and Queen\u2019s Necklace<\/a>, but also a brand new two players game, Raptor, on which we are working for more than two years. I\u2019ve already written a long history of this game here<\/a>, a few weeks ago, but Vincent Dutrait\u2019s gorgeous illustrations, which I just received, are a good opportunity to talk a bit more about it.<\/i><\/p>\n Dinosaurs, probably recreated by man from their DNA, live a paradise island, somewhere in the Indian or Pacific Ocean. Among them, of course, the fierce and fast velociraptors. This is more or less the storyline of the Jurassic Park movie, of course, but Bruno and I didn\u2019t know a sequel was in the works when we started working on this game.<\/i><\/p>\n There\u2019s also on the island a team of scientists, who originally came here to carry out a few experiments on the dinosaurs, but now have to improvise a survival strategy after a pregnant female raptor escaped from her pen and laid her eggs in the park. One player controls the scientists who must kill<\/span> neutralize the female raptor and capture the babies before they run wild into the forest where no one will ever find them again. The opponent controls mamma raptor and her hatchlings, who must get rid of the annoying humans and escape into the wild.<\/i><\/p>\n The game starts with mamma raptor and the five hatchlings in the center of the park, while the scientists arrive at its extremities. Each player has nine cards, each with a value from one to nine and a special effect. The scientist cards allow for jeep movement in the park, for lightning fire, for using sleeping gas or even bringing reinforcements by helicopter. The dinosaur player\u2019s cards can be used to call back hatchlings next to their mother, to extinguish fire, or to hide in the bushes.<\/i><\/p>\n Every round, both players play a face down card, and the cards are revealed simultaneously. The player who played the lowest value card can first use its effect. Then his opponent can spend as many action points as the difference between the values of the two cards for movement and attack. Since each player knows the cards left in his opponent\u2019s hand, this makes for some tactical calculations, as well as some clever bluffing.
