Le peu que j&#8217;en sais me vient de discussions et de remarques occasionnelles des \u00e9diteurs, mais je n&#8217;ai jamais mis les pieds dans une usine o\u00f9 sont produits des jeux. C&#8217;est donc avec curiosit\u00e9 que j&#8217;avais regard\u00e9, il y a un ou deux ans, le reportage que Stephen Conway, un passionn\u00e9 de jeux de soci\u00e9t\u00e9, avait r\u00e9alis\u00e9 pour son blog &#8220;The Spiel&#8221; dans l&#8217;usine allemande de Ludofact. Il a publi\u00e9 ces reportage sur son blog, apr\u00e8s avoir demand\u00e9 l&#8217;accord des industriels concern\u00e9s. Seul l&#8217;un d&#8217;entre eux a refus\u00e9, ce qui devrait logiquement encourager \u00e0 travailler plut\u00f4t avec les quatre autres.<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/thornhenge.com\/factory-tours\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ses reportages peuvent \u00eatre lus ici.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>L&#8217;impression qui ressort de la mise en parall\u00e8le de ces observations est qu&#8217;il n&#8217;y a pas tellement de diff\u00e9rences. Les techniques employ\u00e9es, et m\u00eame les conditions de travail, ne semblent pas si diff\u00e9rentes. Alors, certes, les travailleurs chinois sont certainement moins bien pay\u00e9s, mais si leurs salaires continuent \u00e0 augmenter au rythme actuel, ils nous auront rattrap\u00e9 dans dix \u00e0 quinze ans. Ils sont plus proches ce qui diminue co\u00fbts et d\u00e9lais de transport, et contact et contr\u00f4le sont plus faciles. On peut aussi y trouver des raisons de morale politico-\u00e9conomico-\u00e9cologique, qu&#8217;il s&#8217;agisse de relocalisation de l&#8217;emploi ou de diminution des transports inutiles et \u00e9nergivores, car le discours sur la &#8220;d\u00e9mondialisation&#8221; cher \u00e0 notre ministre du redressement productif, s&#8217;il n&#8217;est pas toujours r\u00e9aliste, n&#8217;est pas non plus toujours stupide. The few I know about the latter is from occasional remarks by my publishers, but I never even set foot into a game manufacturing factory. That&#8217;s why, one or two years ago, I watched with intense curiosity the long video report shooted by Stephen Conway, for his blog &#8220;The Spiel&#8221;, in the Ludofact plant. Sam recently tourde several Chinese game manufacturing plants, and came back with some interesting comments and a series of reviews of what he saw in five factories. Only one of these refused that the review was published afterwards, which should logically encourage publishers to work with the four others.<\/em><br \/>\n<em> <a href=\"http:\/\/thornhenge.com\/factory-tours\/\" target=\"_blank\">The &#8220;factory tour&#8221; reviews can be read there.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>After watching the video and reading the reviews, the striking impression is that it&#8217;s not that different. The technology, the labor organization, the working conditions even, sound similar. Of course, Chinese workers are certainly payed less than German ones, but if their wages keep growing like they did these last years, they&#8217;ll catch up with them in ten or fifteen years. They are nearer from us, which means cheaper and faster shipping, and easier contact and control. There can also be solid moral and political reasons, about &#8220;reverse outsourcing&#8221; of jobs and saving energy. But the finger pointing on &#8220;bad companies who work with Chinese and support child labor&#8221; is largely, if not entirely, obsolete. Furthermore, the main reason Chinese wages are rising and the working conditions steadily improving is that their factories are working for us for quite long already.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>The main point of this blog post, of course, was to explain to the few people who emailed me after my last posting on Formula E that I have no moral problems with working with game publishers who print in China &#8211; and as a matter of fact, most do, if sometimes partially.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Me cantonnant au r\u00f4le d&#8217;auteur, je ne me suis jamais int\u00e9ress\u00e9 de tr\u00e8s pr\u00e8s au processus de fabrication de mes jeux.
